Ambria was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, USA. She is a graduate of Howard University and Baylor University-where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Master of Public Health degrees, respectively. She is currently a fifth-year PhD candidate at Yale School of the Environment where she studies public health outcomes associated with contaminated drinking water in public water systems, and how these outcomes differ across geographic space, socioeconomic status, and water governance structures. When she is not immersed in her research, Ambria can be found running after her very active 3-year-old daughter named Remington
