Fime de la Fuente is a second year graduate student at the School for the Environment and Sustainability in the University of Michigan. He has a long experience participating in movements for the defense of native landraces of Maíz and Cotton in México, as well as in studying the political ecology and ecological introgression of GMOs in their center of origin (México).
Currently he studies the political economy of coffee in Borikén, and particularly the co-optation of Agroecology as “business solution to poverty” that serves public-private partnerships but leaves smallholders out. He has farmed, served as a tourist guide and is a laboratorist of photography (fine printing and developing).
